Wallie and a Raw diet

Wallie The Stray at Wal-Mart

Well we were having a lot of communication problems but I think we have everything figured out for the stray cat.

Fall is here now, so we're going to be trapping him any day now. I just need to get the funds up to get him neutered. I'm so hoping he's a male, it's a lot cheaper to get a male cat's vet work done here. I'm considering contacting SNAPS in IA, but if he's not feral they can't help me again. I still think he's a stray but he still won't come up to eat until I turn my back.

I have decided if he is a male that he will be called Wallie since he was found at Wal-Mart.

I ordered a free bag of Royal Canin cat food, you can too at Catster.com

It's crap food but it's free and that's the only way I'll fed anyone Royal Canin.

Speaking of food, I'm curious what my 4 readers feed their cats?

We're all on a BARF or raw diet. Princess only likes the pork and will try stealing our meal if we give her anything else. BeBe has been eating her share so I have to keep them separated and he needs to loose some weight now. Their fur is so soft and the white on BeBe and Damn-it is BRIGHT. It's gorgeous, I'm so happy we made the switch. Plus, it's really cheap if you do it right. We were super broke this week so I feed chicken for the most part since it's so cheap. I bought 10lbs for $5 and a couple odds and ends here and there, that fed my 3 cats and Holly for 2wks. I don't usually feed so much chicken though. I know it's tempting since it's a cheap protein source.

One thing I would watch out for, some animals are allergic to chicken and a couple other protein sources, chicken seems to be more common.

Our cats and dogs do NOT need grains, veggies, or fruits to survive. They thrive on a Barf or raw diet. Dogs can survive on those things, but they don't thrive on it. Cats cannot survive on them. They need TAURINE which is only found in meat. Heart and liver are good sources of taurine as well.

If feeding a Barf or raw diet seems like too much for you, I highly recommend Natural Balance. My cats were eating the Ultra formula and did really well on it. Holly was eating the Reduced calorie formula and did well. I didn't see much of a change in their coats though.

3 feral kittens and a shy stray

The 3 ferals have been adopted. My friend took one of them the night we caught them.

So the above picture is Pip (blue/white bicolor) and Squeak (solid blue) They were about 7wks old when we caught them.

Stray kitty, we don't have any pics of yet. My friend that works at walmart (ewwwww!) told me about this one. He wants to trap it and get it some where safe before fall hits. Not sure if he wants to keep Mr. shy kitty or not. I've been trying to call him so I can find out. He's a solid black cat. He looks like he'd be sweet as honey once he's calmed down. I don't think he's feral, acts like he's just scared.
